FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

GENERAL: WHY DO YOU NOT ALLOW DOGS?

As dog owners we appreciate that there can be nothing better than a day out at the coast with your four-legged friend and also your dog. However, as a Public House we are trying to serve the needs and comforts of many different visitors with opposing views on many different subjects - TV v No TV, Music v No Music, Dogs v no Dogs - and we cannot please all the people all the time.

We are simply too small to accommodate dogs in a special area during food service times but welcome them once the food is done and if they stick to the rules. - it is known as a compromise. Don't worry we are not victimising dogs - the rules also apply to Parakeets, Gerbils, Hamsters and Goldfish etc during food service

GENERAL: YOU APPEAR TO HAVE REMOVED YOUR VEGAN MENU - IS THIS TRUE AND, IF SO, WHY?

Yes we have but we can always create a vegan dish if required on the day or give a larger choice if booking in advance.

Like many businesses we felt under enormous pressure to create a Vegan menu due to general Social Media pressure in early 2019. However, the reality is, despite very positive feedback at the taster sessions, sales accounted for less than 1% of our food orders up until "lockdown". Simply put this is not sustainable in normal trade and certainly not in the current times. We therefore have taken the difficult decision to withdraw the menu to concentrate on our core skills that are expected from our type of food operation. We will, however, keep this decision under constant review.

GENERAL: DO YOU SELL GIFT VOUCHERS?

Yes we do, they can be in any denomination, are valid for one year from date of purchase and can be used for food or drink.

Please give 48 hours should you require a gift voucher as these are made to order.

GENERAL: I'VE HEARD THE LANDORD IS A RIGHT MISERABLE A*** AND IS WORSE THAN VICTOR MELDREW, IS THIS TRUE?

Yes, some say the BBC used him to train Victor and that he could make any party seem like a wake with his abject misery but to us he is..........................................The Boss!
