Our bar philosphy is unashamdily "old fashioned" (except the tills!). Back in 2010 we quickly realised that people agreed with our thoughts that all they simply wanted was a range of good range of quality drinks served in the correct manner in a decent glass at all times. They wanted to sit and talk to each other and not be distracted by wall-to-wall TV's / Sport / Juke boxes / Fruit Machines / anti-social groups of customers etc. More importantly they wanted to be appreciated - it sounded like common sense to us but we quickly realised that it was very hard to come by in the ever changing pub scene.  

So we set this as our core values and quickly built up a range of drinks that matched our customers expectations, introduced expected standards of behaviour (e.g. no swearing), refused to install any unnecessary TV's and machines, installed log fires and trained all our staff  to make your visit as pleasant as possible!

We constantly look for ways to improve our facilities (having refurbed the premises in both 2010 , 2015 & 2020) and ensure we are always warm, clean and tidy.
